| February 2007 New Ariel Facility Now Open by Nick Harris
Sunday morning, January 21, the first chapel service was held at the new Ariel facility at 904 W. Main in Norman. In spite of the weather, 74 people attended the initial service.
Jason Moore led the worship time on key-board, accompanied by Jim Prebel and Scott Davis on the guitars, Mike Evans on the drums, and with Crystal David and Trina Moore adding vocals.
Pastor continued his sermon series focusing upon the blood covenant, and explaining the symbolism found in the story of the covenant cut between David ben Jesse and Jonathan ben Saul.
The new facility is in a strip mall, and is not much to look-at from the street, but it is really lovely inside. The latest in video technology has been installed in the new auditorium. Three LCD projectors fill a screen thirty plus feet long and seven feet high. It is spectacular.
The auditorium is a multi-purpose room that can seat up to 120 persons, in comfortable cushioned chairs that can be quickly and easily stacked and removed. Tables can then be set-up for church dinners and/or academy classes.
The children’s area is across a hall from the auditorium. There is a large children’s classroom at the far end of the hall, with pictures of knight’s and castles painted on the walls. Next to that room is a baby nursery with two rooms. One is a rocking room, and the other is a sleeping room. At the other end of the hall is the facilities’ conference room.
The youth area has two rooms, the youth room and the children’s church room, and the pastor’s office. The area is huge and can double as the academy teaching center. It can facilitate at least fifty students once classes begin.
One activity that will begin soon is a noontime Bible study which will naturally be called “Loaves and Fishes.” Pastor is very excited about this opportunity. He is also looking forward to the initiation of a Wednesday night Bible study, complete with dinner and youth and children’s activities. |
