February 2008 Pastor Will Travel to Kenya Soon by Nick Harris On Sunday, September 19, following the worship service at the Chapel, Pastor Harris will be leaving to visit our mission compound in Kenya. He will be accompanied on this trip by Linda McCarter, the cofounder and director of Each One Feed One, International, and Linda Salters, the secretary/treasurer of the ministry. The purpose of the trip is to evaluate our various ministries in Tharaka. Pastor gets regular reports from our on-site director, Sammy Josphat, but he feels that it is necessary for the leadership of the ministry to witness our progress personally, at least every other year. Ariel Ministries has made a huge investment in five different areas of this outreach. The first investment is in our EXCELLENT primary school. The supporters of Ariel Ministry have paid for all five of our beautiful school building. We still need funding for one additional building, a library, to house books for our children. The second investment is in our visiting physicians program. Doctors are coming to the compound from Meru General Hospital and from Nairobi once each month to care for our patients. Of course, our nurses are on call 24 hours a day. Our contributors make this ministry possible. The third investment is feeding at least 400 hungry children two hot meals every day. The fourth investment is actually made by the First Christian Church of Perryton, Texas. They are supporting our clinic by purchasing the drugs we need to treat our patients. The fifth massive investment is the new bridge across the Thanatu River. Once in place, this bridge will enable our children to attend school during the rainy season. Construction is now underway on the bridge and Pastor feels the need to provide some oversight.
