Studies on Paul to be Used to Train African Pastors by Nick Harris - April 2008 Albert Kathenya was the pastor of a large church in Nairobi when he was approached to translate the New Testament into the K-tharakan language, the language of his native people, the Tharakans. Rev. Kathenya resigned his post in Nairobi to pursue that vision. He moved to Mukothema, a small Tharakan village about three miles on the opposite side of the Thanantu River from our compound. In that small place, he has almost completed his work. The K-tharaka language is very difficult to speak and to learn and especially hard to translate, therefore very few printed works are available to the local pastors in that region. The words have markings above them that change their meanings and printers from the western world cannot print these markings; not until personal computers came around. Rev. The trip to Israel could not have been more wonderful! We have never seen the country more green and beautiful. It is always so exciting watching others see Israel for the first time. It is like reliving my first trip again. Then coming home to spring is so nice. I love this time of year. All my trees were blooming and my garden was filled with plants peeking their little heads up. Easter Sunday was three days after we got home, so you know me, I had lots to get done. New Chapel Sermon Series Launched Pastor will be doing a series of teaching for the next several months entitled, “The Healing Miracles of Jesus.” The first teaching in the series was presented on January 6 and 13, and focused on the long-distance healing of the son of a Herodian governmental official. Other teachings will focus upon Peter’s mother-in-law, a leper, the man borne of four, a man with a withered hand, and a Roman centurion’s servant. Each of these healings has deep spiritual truths hidden within the miracle which pastor will explain in great detail.
